A. Service Clubs
1. Council of Mattheans (CM)
The governing body or the student administrative council, the CM binds the student body into a self-disciplined studentry through activities that promote the students general welfare. The CM shall assist the OSAD Coordinator and the members of the faculty in coordinating all co-and extra-curricular activities and in implementing the school rules and regulations pertaining to student concerns. The officers are elected by the whole studentry.
2. Boy Scout/Girl Scout Movement
This organization integrates the concept of honor and discipline, patriotism, cooperation, honesty and other related values that the scouting movement has envisioned. The sense of leadership and followership is enhanced as members develop basic skills and attitudes necessary in the performance of their roles as members of a group and as citizens of the country.
3. Peer Facilitators Club
This club aims to help the members to enhance self-esteem and professional growth, develop personal responsibility, increase mutual trust and cooperation and to promote positive peer influence. Facilitators must be respected and trusted by their peers to have credibility. The training of peer facilitators is specific, comprehensive, and thorough. Members enjoy the opportunity to practice their skills in communication, decision making, problem solving, conflict resolution and leadership.
B. Academic
1. Matthean Gazette
The official school paper Matthean Gazette is managed by a staff organized at the beginning of the school year. Through this publication, students are encouraged at self-expression using the medium of writing and are updated on the latest in the school community. Members learn the rudiments of journalism, observe the standards set for journalistic writing, and enjoy the privilege of getting their works published in the school paper.
2. English Club
This club aims to promote the value of effective spoken and written English communication. Varied opportunities are provided for the members to learn to organize their thoughts and express themselves effectively orally and in writing.
3. Math Club
This club seeks to develop the mathematical skills and knowledge of the students through the various activities and projects it sponsors. Members are challenged to perform enriching activities that develop theft mathematical skills such as logical thinking, computation and problem-solving. In the process, they acquire attitudes and values such as accuracy, speed, scientific- mindedness and more.
4. Science Club
This club aims to arouse the students interest in and appreciation of the different fields of science. Likewise, it is geared towards tapping the students scientific potential and inclination through learning experiences that deepen the members understanding of scientific facts and processes and direct their action towards the improvement of the environment while at the same time teaching them to appreciate Gods creation and gifts to man.
C. Performing
I. Dance Troupe
Members of this club learn to appreciate Philippine culture through dances. The activities give them opportunities to express their feelings through creative and well coordinated body movements. Their dancing is characterized with grace, poise, precision, rhythmic coordination and appropriate expression. The ability to interpret dance instructions correctly is the result of a deeper knowledge and understanding of terms, dance steps, tempo formation and relationships inherent to Filipino dances.
2. Glee Club
Members learn to sing as a group in this club. They enjoy varied opportunities to develop theft skills in arranging and composing and they use their performances to demonstrate the value of togetherness and discipline. As a whole, they use and share their gift of music for the service of others.
3. Matthean Athletic Club
This club promotes a wholesome attitude towards victory and defeat and the exercise of honesty, fair play and teamwork. Members engage in physical activities which serve as their training and preparation for athletic competitions. This club likewise trains and develops the Varsity Teams in basketball and volleyball.
4. Future Homemakers Club
This club provides the students with opportunities and experiences to apply the basic knowledge, concepts, and principles of technology and home economics and relate them to their daily activities at home and in different fields of work.
5. Teatro Filipino
This club aims at developing the students talent in stage acting, directing and other related communication and theater skills.
6. Drum and Lyre Corps
This club serves as an avenue for the development of the student in playing musical instruments.
